I'd rather see 'Sack Lunch'

I mean, it's a family in a brown paper bag! How can you not love it?

/best thread ever disappeared from this site, needs resurrecting.

I know! I saw the poster for that movie, and I want to know how they got in the sack! Do you think they got shrunk down, or is it just a giant sack?

I prefer art films like "Rochelle, Rochelle," the tale of a young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk.

reply

Yes, those are good choices. But I prefer action/thrillers like Prognosis Negative and Death Blow.

reply

Plan 9 From Outer Space beats all those movies.

reply

.....And sirdavd kills the thread.

I'll bet you're a blast at parties, huh?

reply

I just saw "Rochelle, Rochelle: The Musical" Bette Midler couldn't make it. Her understudy just cried the whole time though...

I laughed about this Seinfeld episode before I saw the English Patient but after seeing it I can safely say Elaine is a moron. This was a great film.

reply

At least you didn't have to live in a cave in Tunisia for six weeks.

Sex in a tub? There was no sex in a tub just nudity. Right?

reply

no u r the moron, elaine was right on da money, 2hrs of pure boredom.

Not a thread killer--remember "The Chinese Restaurant?"

reply

Cartwright!!

Actually sir, you ruined the thread. They talk about that movie in The Chinese Restaurant episode

reply

It wasn't as good as Death Blow - When somebody tries to blow you up, not because of who you are, but for different reasons all together.

reply

That line was priceless!

Speaking of action/thrillers - coming to theaters this Friday; Kevin Bacon, Susan Sarandon: YOU'VE GOT TO GET ME OVER THAT MOUNTAIN! NOW!!!

reply

Sack Lunch was even better than Chunnel.

too bad sack lunch isn't a real movie- it looks pretty good!

Get busy livin..... or die tryin - Morgan Freeman, "The Shawshank Redemption"

You didn't like "The English Patient"? Why didn't you say so? You're fired.

reply

Didn't Dabney Coleman star in Sack Lunch?? Very underrated performance.

reply

All of the art films mentioned pale on comparison to Cry, Cry Again. The scene where the character is buying back a loaf if his soul is heart wrenching.

I haven't been emotionally affected like that since Ponce de Leon. When he looked at himself in the reflection and saw that he hadn't changed.. I lost it.

reply

And that ENDING...
Out of nowhere there's this lone dancer who appears to be injured. It's a disturbing image. So you cry... and when you see the dancer, you cry again.

reply

I recommend "Flaming Globes of Sigmnud." -- A very underrated classic if you're into Sci-Fi.

reply

None of the above mentioned movies are as brilliant as "The pain and the yearning". I mean, an old woman experiences pain and yearning, how could you not love it? Plus it's a Vincent pick.

This is my signature. Do not confuse it with the post.

reply

I see "The Pain and the Yearning" hasn't been released on DVD or Blu-Ray... VHS only... damn... i gotta get a hold of a copy for archival purposes.

reply

I think you started the best thread ever.

reply

Me too or firestorm. QUIT telling the story and JUST DIE already DIIIEE
I HATE IIITT!

Remember the scene with the shooting and the helicopter ?

I would never be involved with anyone on this thread. Too tell you the truth, I can't be with someone who doesn't like 'The English Patient' You think it's a stupid movie? That's what I'm talking about. The film was EXTRAORDINARY. So romantic, it ravaged me. And I thought I knew what love was........Enjoy 'Sack Lunch'

Dave, I understand your attachment to this movie, but Rochelle, Rochelle is much better.
