I haven't seen this but I think it's funny this movie won a bunch of Oscars including best picture and it only gets a 7.4. Then again both Terms of Endearment and Driving Miss Daisy won best picture at the Oscars and both of them also get low 7s here on imdb.

Well, its been around a long time, and its not a movie for everyone, so yeah its going to get its share 1's and 2's here on IMDB (mostly by people without patience or interest in the film's subject matter). As the law of averages every movie here will probably end up as a 7, so I really dont care about IMDB's score system...
shareI think very few movie lovers likes Romance and if check out the only two romances with a high rating are Gone With the Wind and Casablanca all the others are ratted between 7 to 7.5
shareI don't know that I'd call Gone with the Wind a straight up romance movie. Besides, it ends with Red leaving Scarlet.

But it's still considered an epic romance and most recognizes Gone with the wind as one of the best romantic films of all time abd that tragic ending is what gives the love story much more intensity and power.
