Ralph or Colin ?
Which one is hotter?
shareRalph.
It is my business to protect your majesty.... against all things.
In this movie? Ralph, without a doubt. There's an intensity to him that is so attractive.
In general? Not sure. Like I said, Ralph's intensity is attractive, but there's something very handsome and warm about Colin Firth. I think he's so good-looking in Love Actually and Bridget Jones' Diary.
"And then he started cheating...especially at magnetic travel scrabble."
This is my favorite film of all time, so don't take this as a criticism. But isn't the intensity displayed by Almasy exactly the kind of thing women love to find romantic on the screen but scary in real life?
shareOh definitely. Almasy's intensity makes him an incredibly interesting and attractive character, but if I met him in real life I'd probably be pretty freaked out. In real life I'd rather just have a nice guy who likes to read and calls when he's running late. But that wouldn't make for a very interesting movie.

I adore Ralph Fiennes but completely agree on what both of you said sometimes what it's romantic on screen or fiction it's something that maybe it could make run in the other direction in real life.
In the fifty shades of grey board I putted a topic about would you date someone like Christian grey, Edward Cullen, Almasi or Heathcliff.
The answers till now have been a scary and surprising yes, but I guess it is just because the actors who have played those characters that they said yes.
In real life we want more someone like Geoffrey, Jacob, Jose or Edgar Linton but if films would be portrayed that way there wouldn't be passion or the film wouldn't be that interesting.
If I found a man like the Almasy , I'd run right to him .. A love like that doesn't come around often .. No way would I run the other way .

But I don't think that Fiennes is that good looking .. It's the way a man acts and treats a woman that attracts me .. So many women go for looks alone .. and I think that's a major mistake .. But I see what you mean about at the end , and you said that he was to extreme and how he at first doesn't want ownership and then becomes obsessive .. I didn't think of it that way .

Yes he was rude and I think a lot of males do that at the beginning , not wanting to show that they are interested yet , so they pick or they joke first .. and yeah , you are right about the reaction when she danced with someone else .. I saw it again this weekend and can't wait to see it again .

Didn't think about but so true many men at the beginning don't want to show they are interested so they act the way or joke, actually in many of the tragic romances the woman is the one flirts first something I don't like too much when our main girl is married since it makes her look bad like on this case and the bridges of Madison County.
You had a great point, I thought his rude Behavior was because she was married but it was just a macho thing lol.
and yeah , you are right about the reaction when she danced with someone else .. I saw it again this weekend and can't wait to see it again .
His reaction was so desperate and from someone very possessive since they broke up but at the same time maybe I wouldn't have resisted to dance with him, about watching the film again I'm waiting to watch it with my friends, i want to open my film for a very special occasion.
With all my friends at home in a girls date.
I guess you have seen this thousand times and know this film by memory.
There are many men who don't behave in a rude way when interested in a woman, in fact there are many that do everything to let the woman know they are interested, and put their heart on the line. There are some that behave rudely, just like some women behave rudely, it has to do with the person and his/her personality, not their gender. In the case of Almasy, I do believe he seemed a bit rude only because he was hesitant in getting involved with a woman he knew was already married. He was interested in her, but he didn't want to be "the other man", just like most women who are interested in a man they know is married would probably do what Almasy did in the beginning (I know I would). Later, I wouldn't call his behavior rude, he was just jealous and afraid of losing Katherine. To answer the post question, I would say that Ralph was definitely the sexier one. Willem Dafoe was also quite sexy, at least to me he was!
shareFiennes' character is the type to have a hot affair with but Colin's character is the type to marry so I'll go for Colin with whom you make a life not just a few hot moments.
shareI don't want to marry any character that would commit double homicide + suicide if he learned I cheated.
Physically speaking, in this movie Ralph Fiennes is hotter. He's skinny and fit, so his bone structure is highlighted, and he's very tan, so his blue eyes jump out. Colin Firth is a bit pudgy here.
In general, outside the movie, I think Firth is probably better. Neither is what I'd call hot, so I'd say Firth is more appealing.
Ralph by far!
shareRalph but colin took my heart in Bridet Jones diary
shareRalph. Ralph. Ralph. Did I say Ralph?
