What about Kara and Bowen?
My question is did they hook up or was it just a friendship because to me it seemed she liked him.

Well, in the book wrtten by the writer of the screenplay, at at least one point it referred to Kara and Bowen as "the lovers".
shareOne of the reasons I liked the book a little more was that it actually showed more romantic interaction between Bowen and Kara. As a female, I'm a sucker for sweet little love stories, especially the ones that show major chemistry between the guy and the girl.

Actually, I appriciated the rather sedate nature of their relationship. To me, a guy who loves a little romance in his flicks, it would have merely been distracting in the storyline, and what worse, utterly and unforgiveably cliche` and predictable. I was actually surprised in a good way that he didn't hit it off at certain points. It was subtle, charming, and didn't disrupt the progress of the movie. Besides, Draco did most of the lady-killing in that one scene by the waterfall after they escaped the cannibals. If Draco hadn't died, I suppose she would have been forced by his irrisistably smooth moves, to experiment with some inter-species polygamy.
