the oscars this year, theme song

Did anyone else notice that the song they played when remembering the past away actors was the theme from this movie? It may be my favorite theme song of all time. Even though it was passed over for an oscar nom. at the time, it finally got some recognition...

i finally realized that when i saw it again recently....the night of the oscars i'd posted a thread, askin the entire website to help me figure out where i'd heard that song before and nothing...lol
where were you then?lol

but seeing as how there were about 10 threads and 100 questions about it on IMDB and youtube within 10 minutes of the montage....i find it hard to believe that this theme was passed up for an oscar nod...i dont know what won in 96...but i doubt there are many years with a better theme than this one

Not only this year - the music was used 1998 (70th Academy Award) for the first time.
It's almost a tradition to use it for the montage of past Best Pictures.

...and the Olympics too. The FAQ says it was used in previous years' and I heard it again last night at the end of the closing ceremonies.

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.

Yeah, the main lick is really popular for inspirational stuff. Underrated movie, too. It was a lot of fun.

They also play the song at Universal Studios, when they show a collection of past Best Pictures. I was crazy to find this song; as soon as I gave up today, I found the name. It is an amazing song, the kind that makes me want to cry.
