Wouldn't it marvelous if characters were more nuanced? *spoiler*

When Einon says to Kara, "Then teach me. Teach me pity."
We know in our exact good/bad movie world he is deceptive.
But oh how I love the movies were the bad guys are conflicted, developed, tho this one is a tiny bit.

I heartily believe our need for an antihero so we don't feel bad not living up to ideal expectations is a sorry lack in modern storytelling. It's okay to try harder, to do better when there is no profit or no one is watching.

But...how I long to see us evolve past the point where our stories have the villain do bad thing after evil deed until they die writhing in the worst agony that can bring the audience temporary catharsis.

I have not followed Harry Potter but I love the idea that Snape was a character like this.
We will not survive as a species if we do not lose our fear of examining subtle meanings, beginnings of problems and solutions as well as assignation of blame.

Okay I'm no saint so I am off the soapbox now;
I just like a little...to think about
