Louie, Louie by the Kingsmen. The story goes that the original was recorded in a small room with the microphone hanging from the ceiling. It was high enough that the lead singer was standing on his toes and practically shouting which made the lyrics difficult to understand. As a result, it was easy to misinterpret what he actually said and make it into off-colored lyrics which became the accepted lyrics.
shareUmmm, I believe the off-color lyrics, actually. There is a line, clear as a bell, where he sings 'Stick your finger up the hole of love'. That, combined with the rest of the lyrics, make it a definate sexual song. The actual published lyrics don't match what you hear.
