The Brilliance of Navy Recruiting

Have any of you who have or haven't served seen the new Navy commercials? I caught it for the first time a week or two ago, and it's amazing the lies they put out now. I loved the one kid walking on a college campus saying, "Before I took these courses, I was plotting THESE courses." And then it cuts to him as a Lieutenant in the Navy plotting courses on a destroyer.

Some stupid kid somewhere will assume he can be an officer without a 4 year degree or Masters and enlist thinking he can get a commission.

They really promise them anything nowadays, don't they?

Well, there are enlisted to officer programs, like STA-21, where you;re sent to college to get your degree while making your same base pay. You can also just get picked up to go to the academy. I have a friend that went to nuke school with me as enlisted and now he's going to to the academy.
