It took me a while for me to get "The Man" joke.

When I was younger, when they said "The Man," at first I thought they meant that this guy is so good at what he does that he is "the man." Later on, I figured out that they meant that he was "The Man" as in he is holding people down, as in the political term.

Did anybody else get the joke at first? Because I didn't.

All I need is one mic...

I think the man is also referring to the white man. Because they're always trying to keep people down. Just my thoughts...

After a couple watches back in the day I got it, but the one I didn't get until later on was the postman saying "MESSAGE!"

Getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, were all stocked up here.

In black communities "The Man" is also a reference to police officers.
