It's been years since I saw this movie and I don't remember one thing. Near the end all Ducks were going to get expelled from school and have their scholarships canceled, but why? Because the principal's son didn't like them? I don't remember any other reason, especially that, as one of the teachers admitted, at least some of the Ducks were A students (Julie in particular).
they were taking away their scholarships only. I dont think they were being kicked out. But I dont think they would have been able to afford a prep school without some sort of financial helper like a scholarship. I dont know this whole movie sucked anyways. Good enough to beat world class competition but not a couple of rich kids, come on.
If time is not true, what purpose have watchmakers?
Would the success of the team be tied into the contract, they underperform, then they go, I always thought the they were gonna be canned for poor performance on the ice
They were given an athletic scholarship. Because one guy on the board didn't like them, I just assumed he sort of bullied the rest of the board to revoke the athletic scholarship due to poor performance (basically claiming that the "ducks" misrepresented their skill level probably). So, they played 1 game that we saw and tied and maybe lost another (I forget). Doesn't seem realistic that a scholarship would be revoked that quickly. In the movie as well, they were told they would be able to stay the rest of the semester (not year). Outside of Adam Banks, I don't think any of the rest of them could afford to go to this prep school, so hence they were being kicked out.
They weren’t kicking them out of school they were taking away their scholarships which meant most of them wouldn’t be able to afford to go there. Of course in order for this to happen the board would have to show just cause to justify the cancellation and Bombay assured them that no judge would see just cause meaning he would sue the school.
