In defense of this movie

I gotta say that the only positive thing about this movie was Deftones on the streets of L.A performing Teething :D I think that is the only motive why I see this movie. The story is awful, the acting is not believable and the actors dont feel at all their characters. This movie deserves less than 4.0
Thats all and sorry for being so negative.

I disagree, I think this movie is better than the first one.

I'm sorry, but I guess I'm just one of the few who dont see Brandon (cantacthiswayoutofabag) Lee as some insipid goth prince just because he died on the set.
The Crow was a *beep* movie. and pretty much borrowed the plot from The Wraith. Cept the Wraith at least had tits and cool cars.

City of Angels was just so much cooler and atmospheric. With cooler less generic bad guys. and Iggy Pop! yeah it was corny, but damn it was corny in that good way.

The Crow had..what? typical action movie *beep* guy falls from a high point and gets impaled..yawn...

City of Angels also captures the feel of the orignal comics more even if the story was different.

now i will have to rewatch both wraith and crow to see that connection. first time i saw them they were great action films

I love both The Crow and The Wraith, but I don't see The Crow as any sort of rip off or being anything much like The Wraith beyond the basic "guy dies in a violent incident, comes back from the dead". It has much more of the original graphic novel embedded into it than any sort of influence from The Wraith.

That said, I love City of Angels, too. But it's a mess. David S. Goyer's two drafts of the script I read are much better than ANYTHING we ever saw in the film. It's a shame there's no good quality print with all the deleted scenes from this film intact, because they're really essential to making the film much less choppy. The original ending to the film also has much more pathos and impact.

I love CoA, but it has a LOT of problems.

I love City of Angels, perfect Halloween time viewing in my opinion. It is a mess, you can thank Miramax for that. Try to find the novelization on Amazon.com, most of Goyer's early ideas are in it.

The first is the better movie for sure but COA is a fun watch still.

I own it, it's a great book. I like how it expands on Sarah's backstory between the first and second film.
