this movie was so boring, i waited for it to get good but it never did. I think you will enjoy this movie if your a patriotic yankee who believes their military is the greatest force on earth, otherwise you will see it as to why their foreign policy does not work.

Boy, you really don't get the movie at all. Right at the beginning, Denzel is involved in the friendly-fire death of one of his men, then he is complicit with the Army in covering it up. Meg Ryan is effectively killed by one of her own men. But you think this movie would appeal to patriotic yankee who believes their military is the greatest force on earth? Uh, right.

Meg's character won the Nobel Prize? I guess I missed that part. But seriously, no, the men weren't stereotypical, and none were portrayed as bums. Some behaved worse than others in the context of war, but none were bums.
