Can someone explain something about the movie?

Bronson Pinchot did an interview where he said that Denzel Washington was abusive towards him behind the scenes, mentally and physically, and that he explained this as being because their characters had that kind of relationship in the film.

I don't care to watch this movie. Can someone please explain what the storylines are between them in the film, and if this is indeed true?

Just watched it again today. Pinchot played a whitehouse lackey who only cared about using the little girl getting her mom's Medal of Honor as a publicity stunt for the president. He wasn't even trying to hide it. When Denzel Washington gave him a look, he squirmed like a weasel. The character deserved to be treated badly.
