Jennifer Lopez's best performance.

She was great in this underrated sweet little film. I wish she would have done more movies like this, U-Turn and Out Of Sight. She was also much better looking back then with her natural look, as opposed to her glam look now.

I'll be honest, Money Train is the first time I ever noticed Jennifer in a film, but Blood and Wine was the first time she looked drop dead sexy. I can't stand her glam style that she has right now.

She looked better back then, but still looks good now. I really liked her in AN UNFINISHED LIFE. She was also good in OUT OF SIGHT and SELENA. I hope she chooses gritty roles in the future. Even ANGEL EYES was pretty good. She plays a cop. I wouldn't mind getting handcuffed by her. Ahwaha.

I've been to Miami, and JLo's accent is going in and out, some Bronx, some Cuba, some PuertoRican, it's all over. Unless that's what the Miami sound is these days. Sometimes it's way overdone, and others it's just JLo. Horrible. Please don't come to her rescue. It really is all over the map.

Bruarvatn, how right you and others to mention how good her performance in this film was. I thought the film was great- never could understand why it wasn't successful and went straight to video.
I can't explain it, but Jennifer hasn't been very good (in film performances) since.

Stop with the BS! You call liked this movie because you get to see her in some panties and get a couple of shots that look like it's her poon because the panties are so thin and light.

Blood And Wine did not go direct to video but it made very little money
at the box office. And I agree that Jennifer will always be very pretty,
but I wished she would have kept her natural look because that really made her stand apart from most others. And I also agree that Jennifer was pretty good in An Unfinished life, a movie I liked a lot.

Like OOS, it's a great script - the great American tragedy. She keeps trying to bring this quality of drama in her production projects, like Echo Park, but in these times, it's a not just a struggle, it's downright war, especially in lieu of the one going on between writers and management.

Her accent is forced; she was stiff in the dance scene and its obvious she is acting. She is eye candy only.

I agree with bart-4. In my opinion, her acting was lousy and she did not do the film any good. But still I feel this is an underrated movie. The plot isn't brilliant, but it isn't dull either. Nicholson gives a great performance and Michael Caine steals the show.

reply

Even if it is her best performance, that really isn't saying much. She's really not that attractive. Certainly not ugly, but just not very hot in a sexual way.

Jack and Caine are both annoying and unlikable in this film. And I can't think of a reason to root for Dork (Dorf) either. By the end of the film, I couldn't pay attention to why Dork was ramming Nicholson with the boat, which was simply ridiculous.

reply

That's far from being her best performance, she was ok in this one she did much better in Out of sight, U-turn, An unfinished life or El cantante for exemple.

reply

I thoroughly agree. To be honest, I put off watching this film for months mainly because of her. Pretty much everything else I've seen Jennifer in has made me cringe because of her overacting, but her performance was decent here. I still don't think she's a great actress, but with the right director and cast, she can hold her own.

But do you really think this film is "sweet"?
