Can anyone tell me where the fim is supposed to take place?
I know it was filimed in Keyport N.J. but I don't think Humphrey Bogart or Louie Prima would have any reason to go there.
Is it supposed to be Atlantic City?
Probably Atlantic City, or some town around that. Maybe Margate or Sea Isle. I dont know if you've ever been to New Jersey or not. I live there, sadly, and AC is within minutes of like ten other towns.
All train compartments, smell vaguely of $hit.
I figured it was somewherein Northern Jersey. The whole area is sort of a suburb of NYC, so it wouldn't be a stretch for a big name to be in the area.
I'm not sure Atlantic City was pulling in big names during the 50's, pre-casino.
On something, it says NY, so I'm assuming possible Long Island.

Wow, nothing like bumping an ancient post, but I just saw this movie for the first time two days ago (03/30/2014). Believe it or not, back in the day Keansburg NJ (next town south along the ocean from Keyport) was a big time summer getaway and hosted some of the biggest singers and orchestras of the day: the Dorseys, Sinatra, and a bunch of others, as it was an easy ferry ride from Manhattan. It would not surprise me if a few restaurateurs decided to try drawing the high rollers away from the beach with better quality food and drink.
