Can't believe Mike Judge is so dumb! NO SEQUEL???
What the *beep* is this guy smoking? Sad!
shareI don't know why MTV doesn't pressure him. The first movie made $60 million with a $12 million budget.
shareWould you honestly want to see a movie that had been made via "pressure", or would you prefer to see Mike make the movie on his own merits?
Persoanly, I'd love to see more B & B, whether it be a movie or a new TV show. But ONLY if Mike wanted to do it himself and not via pressure from "the suits".
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.
I agree J McClane, it should be under his vision, not some studio forcing it to happen.
shareHe wanted to move on and do something similar but a little more grown up with King of the Hill.
shareI wouldn't really call B&B similar to King of the Hill in any way. The only similarity I can gather is that both shows find humor in the stupidity of others. Other than that--nothing is the same. The latter show parodies Texans and Texan culture. Being from Texas, I get it...and its hilarious.
Back to the sequel idea. While I would love to see one, it has to be taken into consideration that a) B&B holds little to no interest for the current generation. They were a part of the 90's culture, and most of the fan base is mid-late twenties or higher. B) Would the sequel even be worth it? Id personally prefer NO sequel as opposed to a mediocre sequel.
The 90's culture thing I do not agree with.
I mean Mike could make another B&B movie and still have it set in the 90's. He could do a direct sequel to this film.
That's the great thing about animation, the characters do not age.
As a HUGE B&B fan I'd love to see a sequel. But as I previously said all those month ago...only if Mike wanted to.
We'll have to see how the return works out. If the boys return in good form, we may see a sequel.

In 1998, the movie theater where I was working had a list of projects in the works slated for the summer of 1999. "Beavis and Butt-Head Sequel" was among the projects listed. Obviously the movie was scrapped and I was never able to find any information online but I imagine a script has to be floating around somewhere.

Yeah, because studio interferance always ends well...
