Beavis and Butt-Head to make a big screen return

MTV animation Beavis And Butthead is set to be the latest TV series to make it to the big screen.

The show was broadcast on the network in the 1990s, and creator Mike Judge concedes he's now ready for a live-action revival.

He says, "For some reason, I used to hate the idea for years. Now, I think maybe there's something there."

Judge adds at one point in the 1990s Johnny Depp wanted to play Beavis.

However, Seann William Scott and Jon Heder are rumoured to be lined up to star as the MTV-loving pals in the new creation.

I think it should be Matt Damon and Brad Pitt in the lead roles, and Miramax should distribute it.

Jon Heder as Butthead?
gaaah, i know it kinda fits but that will totally kill Beavis and Butthead!!!

The only choices you have are Beavis (Alex Winter or Dana Carvey) and Butthead (Keanu Reeves or Mike Myers) go with what you know will work. lol!

There is an unnoficial live action version but it's a porn flick.

You're talking about "Beaver and Buttface", work of the late Buck Adams, aren't you?

Live-action would be terrible. One of the things that makes them good is their "image". I wouldn't see a live-action SIMPSONS.

With the wonders of filmmaking, Mike Judge should play them both. A Little make-up, wigs, and camera tricks and cuts, it could be done.

If you're thinking what I'm thinking, a live-action movie would just be silly looking.

idiotic. Live-action is not always a step-up from animated. They need to do animation again, and make the movie rated R. The one, single thing I did not like about the original movie was that it was PG-13, and you could feel that it wasn't as edgy as the TV show was.

Since when was the TV show "edgy"?
The stories revolved around things like Beavis thinking he was pregnant, but just needed to take a dump. And two kids that say "Butt" a lot.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.

Live action? Are you kidding? Why? Look how awful those Scooby Doo and Flintstones movies were. Those would have at least been passable if they had simply animated them and given us the characters were used to. Besides, for the actors fee of these big name stars, do they really save any money over having the South Koreans draw the pictures? Isn't Judges personal take on the characters through his voice work the essence of the show?

reply

I think it doesn't work in live action. It is funny when it is animated. Try to imagine a live action version of Bugs Bunny.

Take a look at this, if it looked like this, it would be cool.

But Seriously Your Opinion Is Wrong

If anything I'd like another animated movie is they were to do anything, I mean the first worked far better then I'd have ever expected.

Given how incredibly old (and stupid) this news is, I'm not inclined to believed. However, there have been various obscure live action instances, or live action parodies, of the characters throughout the years. Probably the most famous, at the time, was from the show Step by Step. https://youtu.be/t3tEwECxDVU
