I think Barb Wire is great for a heroine trying to survive in a society
where women are being imprisoned,tortured, fugitives, and where there voice box is cut out and replaced by a mechanical voice box in a fascist male dominant society,
thus the cage motif alot of cages in Barb Wire. Don't call me babe! She
is not your baby, she is the new feminist woman and deserves respect.
This female will kill you without pity for not looking at her with
new eyes. The blind, the eye, and the new vision motif is important,
thus the contact lenses, eye retinal identification, and a friend who
is blind after the war with the facists is prevalent in the film. Yes I am a fan. This is why it echos the Casablanca angle. In the movie Casablanca Bogie doesn't chose sides between the Nazis and the resistence, until the end it is for love. This is why Pamela is so great! She loves a man and is tortured by love for him and she lets him go. This woman trying to survive in a facist man's world doesn't retailate or hate him, loves him and lets him go! With another woman! Pamela has a huge heart and is loving and accepting. A Feminist who doen't overpower the male but accepts him as an equal! Great!!!
