I liked this film more...
...when it starred Humphrey Bogart.
I think it was called "Casablanca"...
Though I'll admit she looks good in the outfits.

Meh.
Casablanca- overrated
Barb Wire- underrated
...
Yeah, I said it.

I agree with the second part. Casablanca has everything. People are down on Barb Wire because they can't take Pam Anderson seriously. But it's a science-fiction action-adventure based on a comic book heroine. Anybody who tries to take it too seriously has a fundamental problem. It looks a lot like Strange Days, but it has none of the weight or intelligence of that movie. But it's not supposed to, and it's fine for what it is.
shareAbsolutely.
Anyone who gets seriously angsty about this being a remake of Casablanca is way too serious for life. It's amusing to me that they remade Casablanca this way.
And really, considering the poor quality of most every other remake (those that actually take themselves seriously (think Psycho, and just run wild from there)) Barb Wire rates above the average remake.
I like Barb Wire much more. It has everything that Casablanca did... but it's much more cool.
