A gem of a werewolf movie........
Watched this last night, totally enjoyable and I have to say aside from Howling 1 and American Werewolf no other werewolves look this good.. a very underrated movie that deserves more credit.

shareI love the look of the werewolf, but the transformation scene is pure garbage, and I think that's what really undercuts the movie...
It's like they spent all their money on the finished werewolf and the transformation budget was an afterthought (which speaking as a werewolf lover, I have to say cool transformations are something we always want to see).
This just didn't deliver in that aspect.
Having said all that, I do like the movie, I just think that's a really big strike against it and probably is for other people, too.
I completely agree with you, I remember in 97 when american werewolf in paris came out and I could not even enjoy the movie because the werewolves were so dumb looking plus the CGI was pathetic. Uncle Ted an William for underworld:evolution are 2 scary ass werewolves.
shareProbably the best looking werewolf I've ever seen, but yeah the transformation was awful. I think I liked the original Wolf Man transformation more.
Kill the trolls!!!
I love the scene when Thor finds Uncle Ted's clothes in the woods and races back to the house...right up behind the werewolf as it approaches the house. The werewolf whips around to face Thor and, yeah, it was a pretty scary werewolf.
Time of your life, huh, kid?
Definitely a great looking wolfie.
The TF scene was a massive let down though :(
I was expecting soooo much more from how the wolf looked.
Dog Soldiers has brilliant looking werewolves too; but that film does not have a TF scene at all
I liked Michael Pare in this a lot, I didn't expect him to be that good. There are some great scenes in Bad Moon, the whole first act and basically every scene with Pare and the dog. Great make up, great werewolf, but storywise the latter half of the movie is pretty weak. (spoilers) Why the hell did uncle Ted get so hostile to his family in the first place? The tired "but you just had to play the big sister!" thing has no place in that movie. By the third act it turns into Watchers and this is why the movie isn't a big hit. Was there anything in the book that explained his hostility?
have a nice life!
I didn't completely believe that reason he turned so hostile against his family was because his sister was treating him like a kid. But more so because he was becoming a werewolf at that time, gradually. Her appearance at that moment must have caused some emotional response out of him, which coupled with his oncoming transformation resulted in lashing out at her.
In the book, it's basically his werewolf side acting out. Which is perhaps why I said what I said earlier. You must remember, he was greatly let down when his last resort to control the beast failed, that being spending time with his family. That may have constituted as a reason for aggressive behavior.
That basically was it in the book, that the beast was overriding his emotions.
This werewolf can change at any moon as Ted stated when watching Werewolf Of London, it's always a pit lame they can only turn at a full moon.
shareI love this movie, it's one of my favourite werewolf films. A werewolf AND an Alsatian? It could only be better if there were cats.
