Glenn Close wasn't bad as Cruella, but I think Joanna Lumley would've been perfect for the part.

Back in 1983 she did a 2 hour spoken word recording of The Hundred and One Dalmations(Listen for Pleasure 7132)! I always thought it interesting as her character in The New Avengers was Purdey, and one of the dalmations names was Purdita.
