glen close deserved an oscar nomination

i can never grasp why the academy awards ignore and offend glen so deeply by giving her a fraction of the praise that she deserves.
and i'll never get why she wasn't nominated (at least) for an oscar for this movie.

It seems to me that actors or actresses in a family movie, gets overlooked for a nod for a Oscar Nomation. Please try to name at least one family movie, that had an actor or actress nomaited for best actor or best actress. Or even best supporting actor or actress? I can't think of any.

Thank you I forgot about that one. And it is just like how I even forgot that I had answered this post, as if you noticed that my post was from 2007, and now it is 2013.

Johnny Depp got an Oscar nomination for POTC1 which was a family movie and he is the first actor ever to get an Oscar nomination for a Disney film.

gleen is the greatest actress ever, she has never won an oscar, but she doesn't need it to prove it, streep is also good, but not as gleen is. WE STILL WAITING FOR THE ACADEMY TO REALIZE ABOUT HER!!!!!

Glenn Close was fabulous in this movie...I don't know if I would call it Oscar-worthy but for the character and the film, it was perfection. I've never understood why Oscar has always alluded Close either...I had a feeling though when she didn't win for FATAL ATTRACTION, she probably never would because that was the film she should have won for.

Glenn Close was sheer perfection in this movie. Just the right balance of camp and creepy. Amazing!

I second that, Glenn Close was very good, not Oscar worthy, but very good in an otherwise boring movie

She was so gloriously over the top, she chewed the scenery like she was starving, the accent and mannerisms were so exaggerated, but guess what? That's the character.

She was silly and over the top, but that's what was necessary for the character. The Oscars shouldn't look at "who was most realistic?" or "Who tapped into human emotion more" or "Who gave the most dramatic performance?"
They should look at who played the character they were given the best, did the performance fit the character, the tone, the genre, etc.

In that regard, Glenn Close was fantastic in this movie. I loved her.

I had forgotten how dull the movie is whenever the villains aren't on screen, but Close still steals the show and leaves a lasting impression.

It's an electric drill. You get me, you kill me!

She was very good in this and even the sequel. Don't know about Oscar worthy but still very good. Shes been nominated for 6 Oscar's i believe and I'm sorry she deserved a win for Fatal Attraction or even Dangerous Liaisons.
