Tim Curry's rape scene

I was 10 when this was shown on T.V. I was so excited to see it b/c I am a Titanic buff. So when that scene came with him raping this woman, I was so terrified. I remember them showing her feet and how they kept on going up and down. From that point on, I don't like tim Curry. SOrry, but it creeped me out!
The bobsled is an easy thing to use... Yea, so is the toilet!

I only ever saw that scene once. They cut it out the other times it was shown on TV.

reply

The movie could have done without it.

reply

I agree it could have been left out.
Tim's character already been established as a bad guy.

reply

If Tim Curry's even in a movie it's already been established that he's a bad guy! LoL!

reply

He wasnt bad in Rocky Horror...not really anyway

I can't remember.
That Titanic movie was shown only once here in NZ and that part freaked me out too. Don't really remember much of it though.
I had to change the channel. Think I was about 14. Lol.

I absolutely love Tim Curry, however the rape scene was very brutal, and somehow seemed misplaced. Showed a very villainous side to the great actor though.

It seriously creeps me out too. And I also think it could have been left out. {I do find it interesting that - on my copy at least - it's rated E for everyone.}

reply

E usually means "Exempt" and I've seen it on another DVD that is definitely over-18s only.

Come and see the violence inherant in the system!

it didn't so much creep me out as it disgusted me. This is something I do not want to see in a movie that should focus on something else. also Tim Currys part was established as the ultimate bad guy on board. the part was already pretty very two-dimensional (unlike the very believable and to me even a lttle loveable character of Cal in Camerons version) and this made it a farce. it was just too much cliche.

I had to fast-forward through that scene on YouTube. It really sickened me because I liked that character (the Danish Girl) alot. No idea why the directors included it.

reply

was he dressed as "Pennywise" when he raped the girl?
i haven't seen it yet..
