No contest, but Kathy Bates distinctly looks like the real Molly Brown and Henner nothing like her at all. Also doubtful the real Molly Brown would have shown the cleavage Henner displays ... but as flotation devices Henner's character would have been unsinkable indeed!

shareKathy Bates did a damn good job as Molly Brown, as did Marilu Henner. Bates had her personality, but when she confonts Quarter Master Hitchens on the lifeboat he shuts her up. Marilu Henner didn't have the look, but as far as personality goes she did a better job than Kathy Bates. Molly didn't back down to Hitchens in real life on the lifeboat, instead he backed down as this version showed.
shareYeah, I agree...Looking at old pics, Kathy Bates looked more like Molly Brown, but I think Marilu Henner portrayed her personality better. I liked her a lot! I wanted to find out if Marilu Henner was in any other movies..
