Can anyone explain the number of episodes?

I've been watching the repeats on BBC2 recently and the show's great. But one thing is on my mind. Why is there so many episodes? I'm not complaining or anything but This Life has more episodes then any other British drama I've ever seen. The first series had 11, BBC series usually have a standard 6 episodes. And then there's the second series which has 21 episodes, almost a full US TV season. Can anyone explain why This Life had so many episodes?

Because Anna, Ferdy and Warren slept with the BBC Execs.

Bullshyt MR han-man!!

I just read your post and thought you'd made a mistake. 11 episodes in season 1 and 21 in season 2 adds up to 32 episodes, but the cast list has Miles, Milly, Egg and Anna in 31 episodes each!

If it was made by an outside company and bought by the BBC might explain it but I'll have to watch tonights to see who made it.

It's changed!

With the increased traffic coming to these pages now the repeats are on someone musy have pointed it out to them. Either that or they've added one for the Xmas special!

I've often thought the same thing. The BBC wouldn't make a show that long nowadays. I'm not surprised an outside company actually made this show. I've been taping them all so far, but I've bought both seasons on DVD from a poster on another forum. He only charged me postage and they should arrive anytime.

What a f#cking result!
