Just under a hour to go
I cant wait to see the new episode, anybody else exited?
shareMy ten year wait has just become my ten minute wait! The kids are in bed, the phone's off the hook and I'm fed and watered. Excited just doesn't quite sum it up!
shareIt's utter crap so far.
shareamen to that, sixth form script writing at its worst
shareSeems pretty much the same style as the original series to me...
shareJesus! This will make you wonder why the hell you bothered watching ten years ago. Talk about ruining a programme's legacy! Self-absorbed 30-somethings talking to documentary cameras about kids and careers. Scriptwriting at its laziest. What a load of disappointing bullsh*t!

I was excited and then I started to watch it.... I am so dissapointed! argghhhh
It's so far fetched now and the acting from Milly is Cr*p. The characters we (or I) once loved are so over the top now. Warren was never THAT camp, Anna was NEVER that much a nasty cow, Egg was...well actually egg has always been the same.
I am quite gutted that's why I am on here now as i stopped watching it.
Anyone else?
I thought it was ace... it's maybe just coz I've waited so bloody long that it was just amazing to see them again. I liked it though, I kept thinking everything was going horrible and then it went happy at the end, and tbh I'm a sucker for happy endings, even if they are a bit cliche.
The way the 2nd series ended always left me with a feeling of being a bit incomplete, and although perhaps not an amazing new episode, at least it's kinda' trimmed the edges now though. :)
Ultimately I'm happy it happened.
Personally, I think it picked up the last 20 minutes. I found myself thouraghly enjoying it toward the end.
As the stories have unravelled and become clearer and a little less like a teenager's random thoughts splashed out all over a bit of paper, it's actually become a little more more entertaining and a lot more staisfying in terms of the genereal charcter development, which, lets face it, was always going to be inevitablely mundane.
The biggest problem I had with the production was that it was a little too smooth and not nearly as gritty or as real as it was 10 years ago. Plus, the acting, due probably to the fact that they are no longer a group of hungry young starlets with little to lose and everything to prove was very, very stale. The shining light of the whole programme was, as I pretty much expected, Daniela Nardini. The rest of the cast, to me, seemed to be going through the motions, particularly Jack Davenport, who seems to have been forever brought down by the horrifyingly bad attempt at a sitcom that was coupling.
Meh,'twas OK, it's just simply not as relevant as it once was, and life, as a midddle aged being, is even more mundane and more tedious than life as a twentysomething.

Brightside you scumbag.Always a pleasure, my friend.
Definetly came good in the end though, thoroughly enjoyed it
shareSo did i, amen! I don't know what people truly expected. I can understand why people didn't want a one off made, but also why it was an exciting opportunity to do so. I guess people wanted every loose end wrapped up from series two, but there is only so much you can put in 80 minutes. The wit was there, a bit too many *beep* maybe, but all in all, it was a good watch. The cast, the writers, the show has moved on. Let it take its place in the BBC Archives with pride, and i think we should be greatful for the show being created all those years ago by Amy and co which put something exciting, intruiging, and truly memorable onto our screens. Now back to the piss poor shows such as 'Escape To The Country' and as Anna would say 'Strictly Come Dancing - the *beep* coked up teen and geriatric pairs edition'!
Well done Amy x
I think that was worth the wait. It's difficult to compare with ten years ago because the show was different then and I was different then, but I think that +10 was just how it was mean't to be. It gave a glimpse of old friends now without resolving everything but making it more complete than it was ten years ago.
All the best shows end by leaving you wanting more. Look at Twin Peaks and Quantum Leap for example, along with This Life, they entertain and end but they allow us to continue our enjoyment in the possbilities that they leave us.
I really enjoyed +10 and am looking forward to the DVD release and the added glimpses it will hopefully give.
I quite enjoyed +10, I think Ferdy should have not been killed off. There should have been some mention of Milly punching Rachel, Miles divorcing Francessa,Egg's Cafe, Keria & Joe. I know its ten years on but it could have mentioned stuff from series 2. It did live up to my expectations I'm just glad that I was 6 when This life was first aired and I watched the repeats and just had to wait weeks rather than ten years to see what happened next. I thought at the end that Miles and Anna would have gone off together travelling.
