Should Warren Have Lost His Job?

Isn't it a bit riduculous that a law firm effectively fired an employee because of an alleged offence that had yet to be proven in a court of law?

I could understand them letting him go following the 'gross indecency' conviction, but for all O'Donnell and his cronies knew at the time of Warren's dismissal, he could have been found innocent of all charges.

I wonder if he could have sued for unfair dismissal?

reply

I'm not sure but I know for a fact that the company I used to work for would sack someone in that kind of situation, even now, in 2016. Big companies don't like that kind of publicity, neither do law firms. Not sure whether he could have sued, maybe these days yes, but 20 years ago?

It just seems unfair; the charges might have turned out to be groundless. They should have at least waited to see if he was found guilty or not.

i dont think he was dismissed

he resigned and said he was going on a round the world trip

I got the impression that if he hadn't resigned, he would have been given the bullet. As far as I'm concerned, they sacked him.
