The movies really can't touch this show

I'm not like an avid Superman fan or anything, but when I watch this show I can't help but see the potential the movies have. It's just too bad WB seems incapable of exploring it. I just watched The Way of All Flesh and couldn't help but think how badass it would be to have a kind of Terminator-inspired Superman movie, but the best they could give us after 19 years was another generic Lex Luthor scheme.

I actually started a movie script based on this episode funny :)

Movies need to reboot and leave the chris reeves stuff in the past where it belongs. We need a new villian with maybe luthor pulling some strings. Metallo would be a great place to start.

Cartoons aren't restricted like movies by any expectations of resembling reality.

I agree the movies aren't as good as this show.

The planet Krypton in the movies is a cold crystal ball planet. The inhabitants are also cold and emotionless. It like 'Mothering unit how are you. Get my son right away'. The Kryptonians in this show act more "human", for lack of a better word. And they could actually use some villians beside Luthor and a few Phantom Zone villians. I know Superman gets a lot of greif about his villians but there are some great villians that have yet to be used such as:
Brainiac, Bizarro, Conduit, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Metallo, Toyman, The Prankster, Parasite, Livewire, Silver Banshee, Atomic Skull, Bloodsport, Bruno Mannheim, Rampage, Jax Ur, Mongoul, Darkseid, or Doomsday. There's no reason for Warner Bros. to ban these characters for another Luthor only story. I think the lack of decent villians is the primary reason why Superman movies aren't as good as Batman movies.

As for being restricted for realism, Superman is an oxygen breather so naturally they give him a space suit here. In the movies not only does Superman breathe in space but humans from Earth did as well. Also he doesn't struggle as much in battle in the movies. And let's not forget Superman is a being from another planet, that already is a strech on reality. As Far as I'm concerned this show was more realistic than the movies.

Not a total tone down. Just take like 1/3 of his abilities. And Superman should only use a space suit when he's so far away from the sun sort of like in Knight Time when he was in close proximity to Earth without the space suit.

Agreed. In the movies, the portrayal of Krypton is cold and unimaginative. Luthor is amusing, but lacks menace (well, Spacey did turn it up a notch in SR). There's a general lack of imagination, too. Given Supes' ability to fly and travel the galaxy, it's annoying that all the movies have stuck to Earth and typically just Metropolis.

I agree. I love this show, and to me is the ideal Superman. Bit O/t but in the Lantern episode, Kyle says he's a former QT and now an artist. What the
