Idea for a new Superman series

Okay this is an idea I have for a brand new Superman animated series. Basically I think its kinda shameful that there has been no solo Superman series for ten years now and I think its time DC's Big Blue gets his rightful share in animation now. Superman: TAS was great but somehow it lacked that epic feel which I think Superman richly deserves. So this is an idea I had for a new Superman series that basically encompasses many different incarnations of the character. The series would also focus on both Clark Kent and Superman and the different aspects of Superman's personality and identity. This is roughly how I'd have the series break-up season-wise

Season One: This season would be set right at the start of Superman's career in Metropolis, at a time when some people hail him as a hero but a lot of people are apprehensive about him. Lex Luthor is presented as the man who basically 'owns' Metropolis and is involved in several dubious activities while maintaining the facade of the industrialist and philantrophist. He realises that Superman is undermining his hold over Metropolises people and unravelling many of his corrupt activities so he decides to fight Superman covertly by creating/hiring various supervillians (Toyman, Metallo, Parasite, Bizarro among others) as well as using the services of Intergang. A major theme of the season will be Superman questioning his role as a hero as well as his humanity vs. his alien heritage. Superman will be presented as having 3 identities; the 'real' Clark who only the Kents see as well as his two 'masks' as the mild-mannered reporter Clark and Superman. Superman also knows very little about his alien nature except for a hologram message in his rocket. Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Cat Grant and Ron Troupe are also major supporting cast players, with Lois being a reporter who begins to fall for Superman and is also on a mission to expose Luthors corruption. Maggie Sawyer and Professor Hamilton also appear. There will also be a subplot involving Braniac throughout this season, and the start of his association with Luthor. The season finale will involve all the supervillians ganging up to fight Superman as the Revenge Squad. Superman's power levels will be similar to the Byrne version in the comics; he will be a superpowered mortal and kryptonite can severely harm him (after it is discovered by Luthor).

Season Two: The major subplot this season will be Braniac's subversive invasion of earth with Luthor's help and his plans to destroy Superman and steal his DNA to create an army of supersoldiers for his future conquests. Braniac's role in Krypton's destruction and his conflicts with Jor-El and Lara will also be revealed. Superman also learns more about his kryptonian heritage, both from his interactiosn with Braniac and his discovery of the kryptonian artifact called the Eradicator. The publics growing support of Superman and the governments paranoia of him is highlighted, with Lois's father General Sam lane being introduced to the series as well. As Superman learns more about his kryptonian heritage, his connections to humanity and the Clark Kent identity begin to weaken. Also Superman begins to travel into space more and more. There will be a couple of eps not connected to the central plotline and involving other DCU heroes such as Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkman and Martian Manhunter and foreshadowing of the future formation of a team. This season will also reveal the existence of Darkseid and the Fourth World and Superman does meet the New Gods briefly. The season finale will involve Braniac attempting to destroy earth after stealing all its knowledge and technology the same way he tried to destroy Krypton and Superman trying to stop him. Superman will also discover the kryptonian city of Kandor which was placed in a pocket dimension by Braniac and he frees it from the villain's grasp. Superman also constructs his Fortress of Solitude towards the end of the season. Also it is at the end of the season that Lois discovers his secret identity. Superman's power levels will also have increased by this season.

Season Three: This season will have two major subplots; Darkseid's attempted silent invasion of earth through Intergang and agents such as Morgan Edge, the new owner of the Daily Planet who transfers Clark to his TV station for awhile. The government conspiracy of Cadmus whose purpose is to create superhuman soldiers for the government to counter the metahuman threat is also revealed. Mid-way through the season, Superman is killed in battle with Doomsday but is later resurrected by the Eradicator. In the meantime Cadmus creates Superboy and Steel, Cyborg and Eradicator also emerge as heroes in Metropolis. Superman wins against Doomsday in his second round and defeats the Eradicator. The real end of the season is Superman's final battle against Luthor, who reveals himself as a villain to the world with his armour created from salvaged Braniac technology. Superman ultimately defeats Luthor who goes into a coma. Clark and Lois also get married in the end of the season. This season will also include a time travel story where Superman goes back to the WW2 era and teams-up with the JSA, and his experiance with the team causes him to persuade the heroes to come out of retirement in the present. There will also be a Batman-Superman team-up episode against Luthor. Superman's power levels will again have boosted.

Season Four: This season will involve a lot of other superheroes and will be about Darkseid trying to take over earth using a Secret Society of Supervillains as a result of which Superman will have to collaborate with various other heroes he met in previous seasons as well as some new ones (Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Blue Beetle, Atom, Captain Marvel et all will definetly appear). This season will also see Superman meeting his cousin Kara Zor-el who was initially brainwashed by Darkseid and used as a weapon (believing herself to be Darkseid's daughter) but later regains control over herself and assumes the mantle of Supergirl. The end of the season will definetly feature the formation of the Justice League. This season shall also delve into Luthor working as a member of the Secret Society (now out of a coma).

Season Five: This season will introduce the Phantom Zone, General Zod's invasion of earth with armies of kryptonian criminals and the liberation of Kandor, the formation of New Krypton and conflicts that follow. Superman's power levels will have reached god-like scales by this point. Mongul and Warworld might appear this season as well. There will also be an episode where JSA member Power Girl recovers fragmentary memories of being Superman's cousin from an alternate reality, which might lead to some brief re-discovery of the Multiverse. And the Justice League shall continue to feature in the series.
