Question about the episode Legacy part 1

Did they have to pull a lot strings to get Lois to say "Oh, my God!" It seems like it normally wouldn't have been aloud on a kids tv show.

Kelloway: Doyle, get in the car.
Doyle: But I ordered Onion Rings.
Kelloway: Doyle!

reply

Probably not. The producers of these shows were pretty good at getting stuff past the censors.

Yeah. But you'll notice that at the beginning of Legacy part 2 when they're showing what happens in the last episode that "Oh my God" is taken out.

reply

Hmm. Hadn't noticed. I'll have to go back and check it out.

You'll also probably notice that 20 minutes of the rest of the episode has been taken out, too. It must have been too violent or something... Or maybe its just a recap to bring you up the speed and the extra 20 minutes and "Oh my god" were not necessary? Dialogue gets slightly altered all the time in "Preiously on"s. I don't see why this one would be censorship.

I always remember my ears perking up in the original Batman The Animated Series in the episode where Commissioner Gordon was shot in that one firefight and Bullock turned and saw him and said, "Oh my God." It was the first time I had ever seen that in an animated series and it brought just the right amount of realism to that situation.

"They have a grill, it's this grill. Now you have it...it's called America."

I don't remember that line too well, but in the Disney XD reruns for Legacy part 2, they did remove the line Darkseid says to Superman at the end of their battle.

Darkseid: "I am many things Kal-El, but here I am God".
