There is guys that transform into girls? Am I the only person who finds this weird?

i can't seem to remember where i read this but i heard that in the original manga, the starlights were girls and still transformed into girls. Anyone no if that's true?

I don't find it weird at all. According to the anime, the Starlights fled to earth and disguised themselves as males, and became pop singers so they can increase their chances of finding the princess. Not only that, let's not forget that Galaxia, who had destroyed their home planet, is now on earth, so it would be smart for them to choose a disguise that will not be recognizable to her. Since Sailor scouts are predominantly female, no one would dare expect a male to become a sailor scout.
One such evidence is indicated when their princess states to Seiya "so this is the form you chose," which means that their male forms are not their true selves. And then at the end Seiya states, "Seiya's time is over," as he proceeds to return to his/her home planet.
I'm just saying this out of logic, as I find this as the best reason for their actions.
