Finale Upon Rewatch (Spoilers)

Don't get me wrong. I wanted her to end up with Harvey. But years later watching this again I realize...they rushed the ending too much. They also made Aaron too likable much like Sweet Home Alabama or something. Yet when I watched this originally I remember loving the ending so much so I guess I didn't notice lol.

What's also weird about the ending is that everyone in the church when they went outside were applauding Harvey & Sabrina's reunion...but all of those people (outside of the main characters) were members of Aaron's family?

reply

Also strange! Too suddenly like whoo!! About time. True to a point but they really should have made it less sudden.

reply

I think you misinterpreted my post. I'm not saying that it was strange that Sabrina's family & friends were all saying "It's about time." that makes sense. I'm saying that it was strange that all of the extras in the background had that same sentiment too as well. I assume that all of the extras in the background were all Aaron's family & friends. So why would they be cheering on the girl who just left Aaron at the altar to ride off into the sunset with her ex?

reply

I get that. I agree but also found the other part rushed as well.

reply

I agree they had the entire last few episodes to build up to the finale and Sabrina marrying Aaron like that in such a short period of time was a bit off for me. I get it that Josh was supposed to be that character but they chose Aaron since the actor wanted to leave but they really messed up on that one. Also, I was disappointed by Aunt Zelda being a candle and wished both aunts were there. I did not really care for her mother since her character was barely there.

reply

I'm mostly just happy that at least Sabrina got together with Harvey. 

Otherwise the show really ended at the end of season 3.

About Beth and her Zelda role, they were both badly rumored by the entire WB publicity at the end of this show's 6th season. Beth was badly rumored as serious person than as humorous, besides being a comedian. Her Zelda role was badly rumored as a too eccentric main owner type of Spellman witchcraft, besides being an eldest aunt at the same time. That bad-double rumor on both Beth and Zelda may have turned Beth down and that's another reason why some of you heard Beth and Melissa couldn't get along with each other when this show's sixth season approached to the end.

reply

I think things are all patched up between Beth & Melissa now however. Beth made a guest appearance on Melissa's show "Melissa & Joey" 2 years ago.

reply

If the budget would have allowed for Zelda to return then it would have happened but Hilda was the more popular aunt.

The possible reason of it is that there was another ending planned, but since the series was canceled a little before the TV season finale, they had to create an ending in less than a month and with limited budget.
In spite of its limitations, I did love the ending. At least the last two minutes, truly fantastic to watch!
If the finale would had been an hour long, there might had been a chance to see Harvey and Sabrina getting married.
