Nope. 'Rather like the Friday the 13th TV series from the 80s (which is also fantastic) had nothing to do with the films.

Yes they made an indirect reference to the movies by having Zelda Rubinstein appear in one episode, (She played Tangina in the films).

shareActually, there are two films in its title: "Poltergeist" and "The Legacy". Yet, neither one is connected to it in any way. Well, "The Legacy" takes place in a mansion and is about the occult; that would be the sole comparison.
They really should have chosen an original title instead of linking two of them, one extremely well-known. I suppose it's like "Troll 2", which has absolutely nothing to do with "Troll".
