SyFy should really look into bringing back this show by producing new episodes. There's already an established following and would be an opportunity for new fans...be a great fit for the network and their original programing.
I agree that the series should be rebooted or "reimagined". As long as the original producers and writers aren't allowed within a thousand feet of the production. After buying and watching season one, and then seeing random episodes from the following seasons, I actually am surprised the fans are as loyal as they are.
My problems with the show:
- Firstly, was this not paid for at least in part by Showtime? It looks like a poor Canadian channel made it.
- Title sequence for season one was unbearable and ridiculous. Improved only some after that.
- Thought virtually all of the cast should have been replaced.
- Most of the episodes had very promising plots but were executed badly.
- Having nearly all the cases tie in the personal life of a team member sounds like a good idea and at least they tried to make the characters important, but it mostly just failed in this case.

If SyFy brings it back, it had better be with a co-producer so the show can have good production values. Or perhaps Showtime could do it again.
prydain, I'm surprised you had so many problems with this show. Yes, I agree about the opening in the first season. VERY CHEESY. I loved the later opening. I liked the cast. I preferred Kat when she was young. As she got older she became a spoiled brat that I just wanted to smack. My only real problem with the series is there were too many "clip shows." There was, what, 1 every season? We should have only had two. The first one in the episode where Derek was on trial for betraying the Legacy, and then in the series finale.
I always felt it should have taken advantage of (a) the Legacy has 'houses' across the globe, and (b) it's existed for centuries. I never really watched Highlander: The TV Series, but one of the reasons it kept going so long was its ability to jump between locales, time periods and cast, creating a sensation of variety.
