Beware of the Dog

Was a great episode! LOVED IT! For the life of me I keep reading the reviews by both the critics and the viewers who for some reason malign it. Never understood why.

It introduces “The Old Man”, gives more insight into the group and I love the overall feel of the episode. The dogs representing “evil” was pretty cool. The ending sort of confused me. They didn’t attack Frank, Peter or The Old Man when they left the house. All the did was stare at the house being burned. Was the house on evil/holy ground? What was their reason for wanting it destroyed? Was it good and they were evil? Was it simply that it was on “their land?”

Was the main point of the episode trying to say that Peter couldn’t run from his problems?

If I could change “something” about this, I wouldn’t have made ALL of the dogs nameless entities of evil. I would’ve done say for instance, that Frank notices one of the dogs was his beloved pet in life and tries to reach out to it but it attacks him viciously, bites him as if didn’t even know him and he’s heartbroken by it. It I guess would’ve had something to do with the morale of the story but again that I would’ve changed, I think maybe it would’ve made it more meaningful that some of the dogs people would recognize as their own and would’ve been conflicted on harming them.
