season 2 episode with the Lucy Butler character

3 Things:

1) Might seem a silly question but can anyone explain why we see Lucy Butler as a man with long hair in S1 and S2?

2) Does she return in S3?

3) Does anyone have or know where i can get that music that constantly plays in the S2 episode where she has kidnapped 2 boys?

reply

1) It's suggested that Lucy Butler could be Satan himself. At the very least she is a demon or some incarnation of true evil, in this show "demons" can shapeshift.

2) Yes, she returns in season 3 in a fairly uninspired episode that is a mere homage(I'll be nice about it) to the movie The Omen. It's still a good episode cuz Butler is a great character and it's handled very well, but still, not very original. It's the worst of the Butler episodes by far.

3) you planning on kidnapping some kids and brainwashing them into giving up on creativity and achievement?

reply

That classic tune you've asked about is "Love Is Blue" by the late
composer and artist Paul Mauriat. According to imdb the song was
number 1 back in 1968. And you should be able to locate it on cd.

She also makes a very brief cameo a couple episodes or so later, won't spoiler which so as not to ruin the surprise.

Any Buffyverse comic that's post-"Not Fade Away" is non-canon, my PoV says. Denny Crane!

I love the episodes in which she appears in the third season. "antipas" is okay, the episode "saturn dreaming of mercury" is a classic and some fans discuss that Lucy Butler also appears as the woman in "the sound of snow", one of the best and most emotional episodes of the show, in my opinion.

1) I don't remember a man with long hair. IIRC doesn't she appear as a devil just before she kills Bletch? Anyway it's heavily implied in both her appearances that she's an incarnation of pure evil and is a supernatural being of some sort either the Devil or certainly a demon.

2) Don't know

3) Why? Were you locked in a basement cell?

1. She's a shapeshifting demon (as seen in the season 1 episodes Lamentation, and Thrones Powers Principalities and Dominions).

2. Yes, she appears in the episodes Antipas and Saturn Dreaming of Mercury

3. Why? Do you have a taste for dull, ordinary, elevator music?

^Whatever. I thought Antipas from season 3 was a good episode. I like season 3 better than season 2, it felt more like the first season (the best season).

I always thought her name was a dead giveaway for the nature of the character. Lucy Butler sounds like Lucifer, I'm sure that's done on purpose.
