I thought Luminary was an interesting change of pace. The producers and
writers could really have done somtning with the charachter of Alex Vontoux
if they had really wanted to. He could have done brave deeds maybe every
3 0r 4 episodes!!

I hadn't thought about that, but I reckon it would have been a great idea, adding a plus of complexity to this fascinating show.
