Make a Frank Black Movie NOW PLEASE

I posted a similar post at the X-files board regarding a crossover movie with characters Frank Black, Mulder and Doggett. But I'd take a straight Millenium movie as well. I can't believe Chris Carter hasn't come up with this idea already, especially given all the goth dark helpless hopelessness there is out there. Lance Henrikson's Frank Black was one of the darkest, most complicated profilers in TV history. He needs to be given his due, and he is more than capable of carrying an entire movie. I'm in the middle of watching season 3 right now, but I am dreading the end of the series because I have grown so attached to Henrikson's interpretation of Frank Black. BRING BACK FRANK BLACK! He is a noble sufferer, and he is an exemplary agent, competent, badass, yet gentle. What more can we possibly ask for?

Agreed. It would be cool to watch him in a dark, suspenseful 2 hour film.

Yeah, totally with you guys. Millennium has seriously become my favorite television series, heck not just mine, my father's as well (we love watching it and we don't even have a lot of common likes with TV). Ya' know, if a movie can't be done strictly for Frank, at least bring him back for that third X-Files movie Carter is planning. Apparently he wants it to explore the whole "December 21st, 2012" angle and what better character to help Mulder and Scully along than Frank and maybe his grown up daughter? Crossovers do seem to be all the rage as of late, with Marvel doing that Avengers movie.

I agree. A Millennium movie would be awesome. Screw the fact that it's not as popular as the X-Files. Fans of this series need some sort of closure and that Millennium/X-Files crossover episode was not what the fans really wanted. I want to know what happened with Hollis and Peter Watts. Not to mention some of the unsolved crimes like The Mikado. There's so many things they could do with a movie that would not only be great for fans, but for newcomers as well. Give us more Frank Black!

Well, rest assured myself and the rest of the staff at BacktoFrankBlack are working hard to get a Millennium movie made. if you go to our podcast section, we did an interview with Chris Carter and he said that he'd be interested in doing a movie and already has an idea of what he wants to do, but it's up to FOX to get the movie made.

We are working hard behind the scenes to see this movie happen. Keep checking our site to keep up to date. There are some good things happening behind the scenes that I can't mention now, but rest assured, we are working very hard!

Well, it can't happen soon enough! I don't understand how Carter could just abandon such a wonderful character. It's inexcusable, and I'm still mad about it. In a good way of course, but still irked. It's good to know there's a movement out there, but this is dependent upon FOX? Oh great! They'll have to actually take their camera off Sarah Palin in order for that to happen, and we all know the chances for that! LOL But my montra is fully formed and ready:
BRING BACK FRANK BLACK
BRING BACK FRANK BLACK
BRING BACK FRANK BLACK

well judging from how frank looked in season 3 (he got real old real fast, i guess the time jut came, or was he altered to look like getting old?) if the trend continues he wouldnt be very fit for a movie of such calibre. i got no idea how the actor looks right now, judging it from how it looked in 3rd season, and thats 10 years ago.

He turned 70 this year, I believe, and still looking good.

Part of that was the haircolor. Remember at the very end of Season 2 his hair suddenly turned white? Hence him looking so much older in Season 3.

A character like this, I really don't think age is an issue anyway (actually, I'd say the older the better)
Leave the action scenes to Frank's sidekick, and leave all the serious dialogue scenes to Henriksen.

As for the likelihood of a movie, I remember hearing that Carter had said the Millennium movie would be his next project after X-Files II ("I Want to Believe") if the X-Files movie did well at the box-office.
Sadly, it didn't.

Maybe there's the chance of a miniseries. I imagine that would do well. Shown over three nights... the first night could be an edited version of a few key episodes (to get new audiences up to speed) with nights 2 & 3 being the miniseries proper (and with that format, it avoids the usual concerns about accessibility for new viewers)

I'm not sure I'd want lots of big-budget explosions and such in a Millennium movie.
It would have to be somewhat apocalyptic, but in an understated and artistic way... just like the tv series.

No, there was talk of a Millennium move years ago say about 2005-ish but it quickly got booted. There was never any talk of a Millennium movie after X-Files 2. I think what you were referring to was Carter saying that there would be an X-Files 3 movie that focused on the alien arc "IF" the second movie did well and it bombed. Carter missed his chance with both Millennium and X-Files. X-Files 2 sucked and he should have scrapped that and went straight for the alien arc movie. It's also too late for a Millennium movie at this point, especially since that one episode of the X-Files screwed the series over instead of wrapping it up.

Make it happen Mr Carter!

It's too late. I don't know what Chris Carter has been up to these years but he seems to have lost touch with regard to visions such as a Millenium movie. There was rumor about one in the works several years ago but Carter missed his chance.
