-The Dinner for Four episode, when he playfully squirts her with water when they are doing the dishes and tells her it was pretty sophisticated of her to tell the truth
-When he tells Big Patty that Helga isn't all bad deep down, she just says stuff because she's insecure. He clearly understands Helga more than anybody.
-the Thanksgiving episode
-the Married episode, when she confesses her feelings in his dream. In his subconscious, he knows Helga loves him, apparently
-when he asks Helga to walk home with him in Arnold & Lila
-The end of the Summer Love episode
Like the proverbial cheese, I stand alone. Even while seated.
Yep all those but I think there are three others that are the most obvious hints
1)is the episode in which his grandfather tells Arnold how the grandmother used to pick on him exactly like Helga did cause she liked him and of course they ended up getting married so it must run in the family to like eccentric women
2) in Arnold visits Arnie Arnold has a dream in which he visits cousin Arnie's home town and pretty much most of the core characters are there but it's a role reversal everyone's personalities are switched. Pheobe is dim Stinky is intelligent, Rhonda is a slob Harold is well groomed. Sid is smooth Gerald is high strung. Lila is no longer innocent miss perfect but a flirty trouble maker. The only person who's personality doesn't reverse is Helga/Hilda as she's called. She's still Helga but it's just the nicer side of her that Arnold doesn't see. And there little things attributes of her perosnality that Arnold seems to subconsciously pick up on like her love of poetry which Helga has never openly expressed an interest in in class, her depth etc. So it's how he sees her really and he falls for her in the dream.
3) The creator of show Craig Barlett said he figured in the future Helga and Arnold got together.
I just watched through all of the episodes, and I was thinking of watching them again just to see all of the times Arnold expresses interest in or concern for Helga. You both noted quite a few good ones, I thought, so I wanted to post! Thanks for this thread.
Two other ones I thought of were Biosquare and Beaned. In Biosquare, Arnold and Helga are paired together for a project where they're locked together in Arnold's greenhouse for 24 hours. During their presentation after it's all over, Arnold says something to the effect that even though they had a lot of problems and Helga annoyed him, it still ended up being really fun. In Beaned, Arnold accidentally hits Helga on the head with a baseball, which knocks her out and gives her amnesia. He takes her home and takes care of her, and she ends up faking amnesia the next day so he'll keep taking care of her but feels guilty when she learns he'll miss out on seeing a game with Gerald. She ends up hitting her head on the water fountain to "recover," but Arnold still offers to walk her home because he wants to make sure she's OK.
The Arnold Visits Arnie one is really telling, though, isn't it? I love the part at the end where he goes to Gerald Field in his pajamas and gives her a hug because he's so happy to see her! That's one of my favorite episodes. I felt so bad for Arnold watching it, though, because he's in love with Hilda in his dream but she's oblivious to his feelings and dumps him at the end. I guess he does the same to Helga in real life all the time, though.
The Married episode is good, too. I like Arnold's comments at the end where he admits that being married to Helga might not be so bad. The April Fools' Day episode is another one where Arnold seems to show he might have feelings for Helga, especially when they're dancing the tango and he's kind of flirting with her. I really wish they'd make the Jungle Movie or at least a graphic novel based on it, so we could see what happens between them.

LOL when that episode first aired and that part came on, I was DYING laughing because there was this sound effect of a balloon deflating when Helga secretly swooned then she immediately shoved him away. I don't know why that made me laugh so hard.

I remember this one.
"Arnold, my love, why must I worship you...and NEVER EVER tell?"

During the Valentines Day episode, Arnold's pen pal (who was really Helga) asked if he liked anyone in his class. Out of no where he brings up Helga and how she bugs him. There was no reason to bring Helga up during that conversation at all. He could've mentioned Ruth, but instead, mentioned the one girl who picks on him lol. That's a sign right there lol.
I wouldn't say this episode is a sign that Arnold likes Helga due to his obvious frustration with her, but in Girl Trouble, it is kind of foreshadowed that Arnold and Helga end up together because of Phil's story about having the same issues with a girl named Gertie in his class, and Gertie turns out to be Pookie.
