Ugh. And I've noticed , in reading and watching other comedy, how the daily show has influenced the other comedy. Almost all comedy now sounds like jon Stewart or one of the correspondents making a joke, what a echo chamber.
shareI think you might be finding similarities in comedy to Stewart now, because so many late night shows are coming from alumni of the Daily Show. That's just a bi-product of success.
As far as the subject heading in terms of the current crop, I think they are all still finding themselves along with Noah. The only one who has found a successful recurring bit is Desi Lydic's "What The Actual Fact?". That has been awesome. During the Olympics Roy Wood and Jordan Klepper had good opening sketches, but it was a limited run.
I agree. The biggest problem now is the corespondents haven't found a unique angle to do on the show. A lot of time they end up recycling Stewart's garbage. They need to revive "A Moment for Us" and "God Stuff" from the Kilborn era, and introduce numerous new segments for the 21st century.
As for the correspondents themselves, they're bearable now that Stewart's mini-me Jessica Williams is gone.

Well that makes no sense! You agree they need to find their own bits and then suggest retreads from the '90's? Comics won't do other people's stuff. If you've noticed Noah hardly ever even has a segment named, because the segment naming was used to such a great effect by Stewart.

I think they've been doing fairly well, especially Desi and Roy. The others are a little more hit or miss but still do a fairly good job overall. I don't like all of their characters, Jordan can be a bit much at times.
But there is 1 contributor I can't stand. Michelle Wolf. Whenever she shows up I immediately fast forward through it. I just find her style loud, obnoxious, and annoying. And I don't find it funny.
I agree. Desi and Roy are treasures. Definitely the best. Jordan is hit or miss. Ronnie Chang cracks me up, though. I love every time he opens his mouth.
And Michelle Wolf is the worst. The absolute worst. She laughs through her own segments and they're not even that funny... I could do without her
