Kilborn years were the best

Kilborn was the best host of this show; they made fun of a lot of stuff and only covered politics at times and, when they did, they made fun of both parties. Stewart's nothing but politics focus got boring and he completely lost me when Obama was elected and he said they would have nothing to joke about anymore, just shows a huge bias when they say they can't joke about Obama.

And now Noah is Elmo. They really should fire him and get Joel McHale, McHale would be a great Kilborn type of host.

BINGO!!!

More and more people are stating this simple truth publicly. It needs to be repeated, loudly and often, because the Stewart zombies have dominated the internet with their propaganda about how Stewart "made" the Daily Show successful by turning it into a partisan Democrat Party mouthpiece and "educating" (brainwashing) millennials into supporting Stewart's political viewpoints.

I feel sorry for Trevor Noah. He's a likeable guy and a worthy successful to Craig, but he's been hanicapped since Day One by Stewart's hack writers. All they want to talk about (endlessly) now is "Trump sucks, Hillary is sooo awesome". (Trump does indeed suck but it shouldn't be 95% of the material on the Daily Show, and the true Daily Show would NEVER endorse political candidates or authority figures, ESPECIALLY not entrenched insiders like Hildabeast.)

The Daily Show needs an enema. We MUST purge the Daily Show of Stewart's "people" so we can finally get the REAL Daily Show back.

Well, I guess I have to give him a smidgen of respect there for admitting he was totally in the tank for Obama and would never make fun of his messiah.

It's unfair to blame Noah for the sins of Stewart. It's not Noah's fault the writers keep giving him garbage material. It's only his first year on the show and he has no clout to change the direction.

That being said, we certainly don't want Trevor to continue Stewart's "legacy" of having a monopoly over the show for over a decade. He should return to the Kilborn pattern of doing his time for a few seasons and then turning the chair over to someone new and interesting (as long as they avoid a repeat of disastrous 1998 decision to put a Stewart-like scumbag in charge). After three years, Noah can hand the reigns to a true successor like McHale or Craig Ferguson.

Honestly, why are all you haters of the show even here? Just admit you hate it because it's a liberal show, and leave it at that. Also, Kilborn didn't make the show popular, Stewart did. We get it, you hate it. Next, please.

If I "hate the show", wouldn't I be on here demanding it get "cancelled" constantly, like Jon Stewart's lapdogs do constantly?

It is they who HATE The Daily Show. They see it as a personal vehicle to push Jon Stewart's agenda, and want it utterly destroyed now that he's gone.

I spent many years as a die-hard Daily Show fan and I am NOT leaving. I am here to restore MY show to greatness. Lewis Black was on Wednesday night and he is a great reminder of what The Daily Show USED to be like BEFORE Jon Stewart destroyed it.

Yeah sure, "nobody watched" before your hero Stewart showed up. Funny how it lasted three years and kept getting A-list guests back when "nobody" was watching it. Just because you push your history revisionism doesn't make it true. Check any internet thread from 1999 and you can see that Daily Show fans were up in arms when Kilborn left and that scumbag Stewart took over, and that was BEFORE he turned the show into Democrat Party propaganda. Daily Show fans KNEW he would suck, and we were PROVEN right.

“They thought of it as a continuation of their show. I thought it was a new show.” (That being said, there’s also some mention of a famous “f--- you” meeting where Stewart put his foot down and declared the show his own.)

Well, there you go. Indisputable proof of what a lying scumbag Stewart is. He flat out lied in 1999 when he said he wouldn't change the format of The Daily Show because "it would be like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa". Stewart HIJACKED The Daily Show for his own selfish purposes and he and his brain dead followers think of it as "his" personal show and believe the show exists to promote Stewart's policies. As far as they are concerned, nobody else should be "allowed" to even watch the show if they don't mindlessly agree with Stewart's Democrat Party propaganda.

It is time to take back OUR show from Stewart's horrible grip. He's like the Dark Lord Sauron now... no longer physically present on the show but having his minions manipulate it to do his bidding.
