Trevor is better than Jon Stewart

What I didn't like about Jon Stewart is that he entirely forgot he was doing a comedy show. Instead he started to take himself too seriously, which is why he left to make a movie as if he was now a serious journalist/filmmaker. Trevor brings to the show what it was all about, which was comedy, and he makes his intelligent points through comedy not buffoonery and going off on dark rants like Jon Stewart did. Jon Stewart was stupid to go on other shows and argue with political pundits. It totally destroyed his character. He would break character too much on the show. Trevor is the real deal. For those who want to see rants about politics like Jon Stewart go watch Real Time.

YES!!!!

Glad to see someone else on this board GETS it!!! The Daily is SUPPOSED to be lighthearted and irrelevant, and be a PARODY of nightly news, NOT a system to promote political beliefs. The Stewart zombies are clueless and annoying. I am so tired of hearing them whine about The Daily Show "should" go around preaching partisan politics and "educating" people on the virtues of socialism because that's what their idol Stewart did. He didn't invent The Daily Show, had NO RIGHT to change it, and the show got along fine for YEARS without him on it. Saying his garbage is The Daily Show's "mission" is like saying Russia exists to promote Soviet-style communism.

The thread needs to be continually bumped to the top of the board until the Stewart shrills get it through their thick skulls. Now, repeat after me:

The Daily Show = ZANY, IRRELEVANT COMEDY

The Daily Show DOES NOT = Jon Stewart's personal beliefs

The problem with the current program is that they cannot decide on being primarily comedy or serious.

Okay, valid point there. The show is still being held back by a bunch of Stewart loyalists on the writing staff who want to lecture viewers on how awesome transgender rights, gun control, Planned Parenthood, and Hillary Clinton are.

Once those scumbag DNC propagandists are gone, TDS will be able to soar again.

I didnt like Stewart towards the end , and the trained seal audience got really obnoxious but Stewart in his 2000-2008 prime was several billions time better than noah could ever hope to be, noah is horrible.

The words "Trevor Noah" and "comedy" do not belong in the same sentence. Unless that sentence is "Trevor Noah wouldn't know comedy even if it bit him in the *ss". And that lame joke is edgier than anything The Daily Show has come up with since Trevor Noah took over.

True. If they care about saving the Daily Show, he has to go soon.

If they cared about saving The Daily Show, your guy Stewart wouldn't have lasted one year in that chair, let alone sixteen. It will take years to undo the damage he's done.

Well, some people have *beep* taste. You are one of them.

...as evidenced by the fact that Stewart drove away viewers in droves during the Obama era when he proved to be a shameless shill for Obama's policies and proved he was full of BS when he claimed he only went after Republicans during the Bush era "because they're the ones in power". And yet Stewart's mindless followers STILL defend his "legacy" on here and want that failed format to continue.
