Great episode today

Trevor did really well interviewing Tomi Lahren. I was kind of nervous throughout the interview, but he asked the right questions without being insulting.

For sure. I like Trevor. Glad he picked for this and they didn't just go for some mainstream pick.

He started out kind of rocky. But most hosts of TV shows do. Jon Stewart did. Stephen Colbert did. Larry Willmore. They all had to get their footing and learn on the job.

With that said. Trevor has gotten better and better. And this interview certainly was one of his best.

I didn't know who she was until he showed that clip of her (remembered her after that). He went in on her and I loved it.

And that's why she won.

Yes, Trevor did a great job

He's gotten a bit more comfortable, which has definitely helped his performance.

At the same time, though, he's still, for the most part, ignoring Jon's Emmy award winning writers while repeatedly opting for sketches from his African hires. As long as he keeps drawing from this inferior comedic well, he's not going to see any Emmy nominations/wins.

So, he's basically gone from a show that's barely tolerable to a show that's somewhat enjoyable, but, I'm sorry, I don't see Emmys on the horizon. I'm also not sure if this newly found swagger is going to save his ratings either.

Colbert is on an extremely similar trajectory. He, too, seems to be a lot more comfortable in his own skin. But he, too, is making the mistake of ignoring Emmy winners in favor of hacks like Stack- who was doing the occasional funny character for Conan, but, these days, is consistently barely amusing.
