Time to clean house at The Daily Show?

I like Trevor, I've defended him on here, he has potential. He is lighthearted, silly, and irrelevant, like The Daily Show is SUPPOSED to be.

That being said, after over a year in the anchor's chair, The Daily Show still can't seem to shake itself free of the Jon Stewart virus. The Daily Show has managed to purge most of the worst Stewart era hacks like "Sam Bee" and Jessica Williams, but Stewart-style topics and tone continue to haunt the show and Trevor remains trapped in the shadow of Jon Stewart's ugly, condensing, DNC propaganda disguised as comedy era.

Let come to terms with this fact. It is time for a MAJOR shakeup of The Daily Show in 2017.

Too many people here want to blame Trevor for the mess he inherited from Stewart. It is NOT Trevor's fault that the hacks behind the scenes are forcing him to focus on Stewart-style garbage and spew Democrat Party propaganda. We must understand that Trevor is from South Africa and doesn't even care about or AGREE with half the stuff they make him talk about, which is why it sounds forced and unnatural when he preaches leftist American politics.

At the very least, its time to get rid of Hasan Minhaj (and I geninuely TRIED to like that guy, but enough is ENOUGH), Michelle Wolf (ditto. I defended her on here and she let me down), and Jordan Klepper.

EVERY Daily Show writer who voted for Hillary also MUST go. The Hillary propaganda was painful to watch, and that is coming from someone who defended it during the primary because the Bernie Sanders crybabies wanted The Daily Show to promote his candidacy. Of course I'm not saying the show should be stacked with Trump apologists on the writing staff, either. If you stayed home, left the presidential race blank, wrote in a candidate, voted for Jill Stein, voted for Gary Johnson, or did ANYTHING ELSE, fine. But if you voted for Hillary, its time for Trevor to show you the door. We've reached the end of your rope. The Daily Show exists to MAKE FUN of the establishment, NOT to promote an entrenched criminal like her.

It will take a major effort to purge the nasty stench of Stewart from the Daily Show, but we can and MUST get it done in 2017.

You think Noah is being forced to read the lefty scripts at gun point?

😒

Well... duh.

Even the most die-hard Stewart fanboys have stated his editorializing doesn't sound sincere.

Seriously?

Noah sounds totally on board to me.

Noah sounds totally on board to me.

You might be the ONLY one on this board who thinks that. Even the most die hard Stewart zombies have admitted (and frequently complained) that Trevor Noah preaching leftist American politics sounds fake and forced, and that his heart isn't it in.

Trevor himself has privately admitted this as well:

Breitbart? Really?

And how is a recorded interview... private?

I've seen nothing to suggest he doesn't believe the stuff he's saying.

reply

He willing reads it because he is THAT ignorant.

John Stewart Virus. That a good one.

Hillary supporters are crazy now that she lost.

Hillary supporters are crazy now that she lost.

If Craig Kilborn were still host, he'd be having a field day making fun of them.

Unfortunately, all the writers on today's Daily Show are ALSO crazy that she lost and will be crying about it for months. And honestly, they should thank their lucky stars she lost because otherwise they wouldn't be able to talk about Trump anymore and would be forced to find new material.

Yep, The Daily Show needs cleaning. They are so for Hillary it's crazy. They hate Donald Trump so much like all the major media.

Glad to see someone on here gets it. Heads should roll over the fawning pro-Hillary coverage during the general election. They have egg all over their faces now.

You are legitimately nuts.
You know that, right?

Looks like ReelReviews14 finally lost his marbles. I'm sure he'll post another 100 anti-Jon Stewart posts because thats all he talks about.

Awwww, poor baby... the truth that Jon Stewart DESTROYED The Daily Show and Trevor Noah inherited his garbage format hurts, doesn't it? Unfortunately for you Stewart zombies, this is not a Jon Stewart fanpage. This is an internet forum to discuss The Daily Show, and most viewers are well aware that the show suffers from being leftist propaganda now, thanks to your boy Stewart.

We are free to discuss the damage Stewart did to The Daily Show, just as the Batman & Robin IMDB page is free to discuss the damage Joel Schumacher did to Batman. Schumacher's neon-looking sets and rubber nipples don't define Batman, Stewart's Democrat Party propaganda doesn't define The Daily Show.

Fans of both franchises need to keep that garbage as far away as possible and reclaim what their franchise is REALLY about.

Frankly if it wasn't for Jon Stewart. The Daily Show would have been canceled long ago.

reply

Yeah, because all know that during the Craig Kilborn era, the show was constantly on the chopping block for being "cancelled" every season, right?

it was pretty unknown on the same scale as what Stewart took it to.
He took it to another level which made it internationally celebrated. To be honest I can't even picture who Craig Kilborn is. Did he rekindle his in-demand brand of show somewhere else after Stewart took over? I mean, according to you he had a style that was unparalleled in the decade and a bit that Stewart reigned.
He did!!! The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn. Ran for 527 episodes for 5 years. Of course it knocked the Stewart show off the map and the world all fondly remembers it and it's contribution to insight and debate...
And then again in 2010 the Kilborn file, so popular it lasted 3 episodes.
Not knocking him, or his talent but, if it was as you say, he'd be ruling the roost by now.
