If you don't support the BLM movement, you are racist
Is that basically what it has come to?
sharePeople don't have to be racist to not support BLM. If it's not there cause, it's not; some people have priorities elsewhere...LGBQT rights, women's rights, earth's rights, etc. Fusion coalitions like in NC do a good job of bringing everyone together, but a lot of people like to be single issue. Some people plain don't have the energy to support any cause.
On the other hand, if you can't acknowledge those three words "black lives matter" and that their supporters have a right to fight against racial injustice, then yes you are a racist.
This world...
shareBad things happen to people of every race, every day. However, when something bad happens to a person of color at the hands of a white person, well then it must be racism.
Ever think it's just circumstance? Nah. Couldn't be. That doesn't sell papers:
Sure all kinds of bad things happen to people all the time. The reason BLM focuses on police brutality is because they are supposed to serve and protect. It's not circumstance when the DOJ finds a problem of institutional racism over and over again.
Please cite one example where the DOJ found "institutional racism" as the cause of a specific shooting.
You're full of sh-t.
I'll give you three, but also know since you couldn't carry on a civil conversation this is the end of it.

The lede for this article..."The Department of Justice's explosive report on institutional racism in the Baltimore Police Department represents a devastating indictment of the criminal justice system."
http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/26/politics/doj-police-racially-offensive-text-messages/index.html
"DOJ targets racism in police forces, eying Fort Lauderdale" mentions a number of departments under investigation at the time.
Since it's easy to find the Dept. of Justice Report on Ferguson (and it's 105 pages), instead I'll cite a university paper based on that report.

Elephantlips ran away.
sharebecause they are supposed to serve and protect. They serve the community by beating the shyt out of criminals to protect us. If criminals think their arresting officer should be some polite pussy that they can walk all over and disobey, they are sorely mistaken.
On the other hand, if you can't acknowledge those three words "black lives matter" and that their supporters have a right to fight against racial injustice, then yes you are a racist.
How is BLM racist? There were protesters of many races, religions, gender... Any group is going to have issues with extremists (look at Christianity and the KKK - not bashing religion it was interfaith clergy who stood up to Ferguson/St Louis PD), but they were often muted from within (like the gangs that worked together to control things in Baltimore). They also hold cops of color just as accountable for their actions. You should read Wesley Lowry's book They Can't Kill Us All, it has interesting stuff on the makings of the BLM movement and issues that occurred that even if you followed the events you aren't likely to have known.
shareNot supporting a racist hate moment is racist? Kay.What moment are you referring to? share
