Fr. Peter + Assumpta in other shows

I have recently discovered that the characters of Father Peter and Assumpta made cross over appearances in two other shows, Vicar of Dibley (Ballykissdibley episode in 97) and Father Ted (Christmas episode 1996). I would love to know how these shows involved Fr. Peter and Assumpta, outside of BallyK.

The scenes are on Youtube and are hilarious.

In the Vicar of Dibley, Father Peter appears when he stays in Dibley for a while before the Vicar of Dibley stays in Ballyk for a while. It's a bit like "Wife Swap" except with curates. Assumpta appears in a Publican Swap I guess you could say. In Father Ted they appear in Ted's dream at the beginning and a little later in the episode too. Ted is sitting at a bar and Assumpta is talking to him, they are the only people in this bar. Ted is telling Assumpta that he is going to leave the priesthood for her. Father Peter then walks in and says he's leaving and goes pretty much unnoticed by Ted and Assumpta. Ted and Assumpta begin to kiss but Ted is subsequently awoken by Dougal offering him a peanut. Later Assumpta appears telling Ted she's not going out with him because he's only the second best priest in the country. Then we see Peter laughing at Ted.
Well, I hope that was clear enough for you! I've seen both of these on YouTube and they really are very funny!

Thank you for the youtube video. It was so cute. I only wish that it was Father Peter Clifford and Assumpta kissing!!!

In Ballykissdibley, Geraldine did an exchange with Father Peter Clifford. Assumpta appeared at the end and caught him kissing Geraldine. In Father Ted, after winning a Golden Cleric award, Ted had a fantasy of Assumpta leaving Peter for him.

Have you seen the series "Shades?" Both are in that, playing deceased people who try to influence the living from the nether world.

I have not seen a DVD. I watched the show when it was on TV some years ago. In my opinion, it was not a very good show. I think Stephen Tompkinson is much better in the more recent program "Wild at Heart," which is still in production, I believe.
