Peter. What else is there to say about him?

He was amazing. I cannot remember enjoying a character so much in a long time. That man simply carried that show.

Plus, though I didn't find him appealing at first I found myself totally falling for him, just like our Assumpta. He is strangely attractive. Totally sexy. Love him!

Ha! RC, I came on here to see comments on seasons 4-6 and saw your post!

I loved, loved, loved Peter. At first I thought he wasn't good looking, and he was a priest! Can't get much worse than that as far as sex appeal goes for me, being the rotten Catholic that I am! After I watched the few episodes I was hooked and thought Peter greatly improved in appearance as I got to know the character better. He was kind, funny, sweet and he didn't roll over and comply with the rules of the church. I know it's a TV show and not reality, but it was refreshing to see the church and it's beliefs challenged for once,

The chemistry between Peter and Assumpta was wonderful. We had to wait a long time for them to get together, and once they did it was very short-lived, but definitely worth the wait.

Oso! I thought you might show up here. I was waiting...

Yes, Peter is so adorable. Kind, funny ,sweet--check. He's got this innocence, too. And a little naivete. But he's definitely confident and willing to stand by his convictions. So hard not to root for him and love him! And he's very passionate about pretty much everything he does. Always goes 100%, even when it's pining away for the forbidden Assumpta. Anyway, I could go on and on...

So you watched 4-6? I haven't been on JPD lately...been a little busy. I usually have to set aside a good hour plus chunk of time to reply to posts there.

I totally agree. It kinda feels wierd to be so attracted to a priest. And the way they fell in love was wonderful. I can't even explain how devistated I was at the end of series 3.

Hey,my sister is osoguante. She told me to watch this series because she wanted to know my reaction to the program paricularly at the end of the third season. I swore I would not go to the IMDB to find out the ending. I kept my promise.

Initially, I called my sister and said the characters on this show at best were very average looking. Some had very bad teeth. As the program progressed I came to love all the characters, their physical flaws, their quirky personalities, and particularly the relationship between Assumpta and Father Peter.

Yes, ST does have a lot a charisma. This show has seemed to serve as a means for many actors and actresses to get a start. And for others to have their one moment in lights.

Tomkinson is a fine actor. Totally underrated.

Saw him on stage in "Art" and he stole the show. And that's some feat when the other two men on the stage with him were James Fleet and Michael French.

On stage you can really get the measure of an actor, I think. It's the true test. He's an extraordinary stage actor--one of the best out there.

I've seen many actors/actresses I enjoyed in tv programs greatly, then seen them also on stage and found them to be lacking in some way in live theatre (names not mentioned to protect the innocent, ha).

Tomkinson's got all the bases covered....

Dervla Kirwin is also good on stage--I've seen her a few times now. And just a couple of months ago in "The Weir." She can do both equally well, too.
