In the trivia section for Stephen Tompkinson it says that Dervla Kirwan and he were engaged for 2 years. Does anyone know when or what the circumstances were that they ended the relationship? I love their chemistry on screen and would like to know more about their relationship off.

When I googled their names some results popped up rather quickly it appears that they were engaged on set in 1997 and then just kind of grew apart and broke it off in 1999.
shareI guess that explains why most couples get married less than 2 years after they get engaged. I've only heard a few couples who had their engagements longer than that before marrying...and they usually were just teased by all their friends.

About 5-7 years ago I belonged to a couple of BallyK discussion boards, no longer in existence Apparently ST was involved with other women so Dervla broke it off.
Good to see interest in BallyK again as it is now being shown more on BC-America type channels.
ugh that sucks. I wouldn't have picked him to be that kind of guy but i guess you just never know. And women? so not just one? Can't blame her. The people on these boards obviously had inside sources??
