What denomination is the family?

I think they're supposed to be methodist.

I think they were non-denominational christians so the writing would be easier.
The writers really didn't seem to understand a lot (like the character "Patty-Mary" no catholics I know name theor daughters like that anymore.

They seem dispensational at least.

I have always thought they were Methodist. This is based on where the father stood during church.

Years ago when joining a Baptist church we had to go through some classes that explored the difference between the denominations. This was over 25yrs ago so I don’t remember much. But one thing that stuck with me. The pastor explained on how the preacher stood higher than the congregation was a symbol of how the preacher was close to God.
