Did he really take down Sid or was that still an illusion?

That was real. It seems you missed the point of the ending.

Parker Barnes, Madison Carter, and SID 6.7 re-enact the last few minutes of the "fake ending" in a virtual reality, unbeknownst to SID 6.7. Here, they trick him into telling where Karen (Madison's daughter) is.

The ending was real. I must admit I was a bit confused myself when I first saw it. I thought the whole action of Parker and Madison hunting down Sid 6.7 was all in VR and my brother Jack thought Parker was a robot, because of his robotic arm.

Really? I found the storyline very easy to follow. The movie basically spells everything out to the audience from the very beginning... Only thing i can't get my head around is Sid's hair.
